Patching: If there are rips or tears, the solution may be to patch the grass up. Usually, adhesives and turf pins are used to patch it up, almost giving it a flawless look. 

Replacement: Sections damaged by heat could be replaced with a new ones. All you need to do is simply cut it out and replace it. Especially if you have remnants from the last time you installed it. If done well, your grass could have a flawless appearance. 

Hire the service of a professional: Sometimes things happen to your grass that may be beyond your knowledge or expertise. At that point, you may have to hire the service of a professional to fix it. 

Can you do it yourself?

Yes. You can fix your damaged artificial grass yourself if you have the right tools. Follow the steps below to go about the process. 

First step: Cut out the damaged spot on the grass. While cutting, ensure the cuts are deep enough. You may have to use a cardboard piece as a template for that.

Second step: Cut the required replacement using a cardboard piece again. It should be the same measurement as the damaged part. Therefore, accurate measurement is required. 

Third step: Use steaming tape to join them together. Ensure you press down the materials until a strong bond is established. 

Fourth step: Allow to dry. Avoid walking on it or your pet playing on it while it dries. Congratulations, you’ve just fixed your grass! It’s noteworthy to know that preventing damage is better than fixing your artificial grass!
